Maggie Gyllenhaal:
Andi alluded to pockets in one of her comments, and that's totally the reason I picked this dress: POCKETS! On a formal dress! very, very cool. Since Maggie is Jake's sis, I decided to overlook that this isn't really the best dress ever. But I think it's unique and in other pics she looks very cute.
Speaking of Jakey, let's not wait any longer for this:
Sure, I would've preferred a vest and tie as opposed to a bowtie, but really it doesn't matter what he has on, does it?
This is Shaun Robinson, according to IMDB; I can't for the life of me figure out why she was there.
I did top only because the bottom of this dress is just straight pink and not as lovely as the sparkly top. Whoever she is, she looks great.
Ziyi Zang (Memoirs of a Geisha; Rush Hour 2 - you know you remember her singing along to the radio before she gets kidnapped):
This picture doesn't really do her justice. She was adorable when she came onstage to present an award.
Will and Jada:
Impeccable as always. This couple either has great taste or great stylists because they always look good. The color on Jada is gorgeous so I'm willing to overlook to train which I can't decide about. And Will rocks the tie and vest instead of the bowtie.
Felicity Huffman:
THIS is how to wear black to the Oscars - do something daring and dramatic with the cut of the dress. I love that she isn't wearing a necklace (as far as I can tell) because this is totally a dress where my mom would be all "wear a necklace" and I'd be all "my cleavage is my necklace!"
Jessica Alba:
I'm not really the biggest Jessica Alba fan, but I have to admit she looked pretty good. The detailing on her gown really does it for me and she pulls of the sort of mermaid-ish cut.
Terry Pheto (from foreign language winner Tsotsi):
I'm probably going to get disagreement here, but the color is one of my favorites and I just love the way the red ribbon of color zigzags across her chest. The dress is funky but still elegant, and I applaud her for taking a risk. (I also applaud Michelle Williams' risk, by the way, I just happen to think it was a bad choice.)
Three 6 Mafia:
These guys won best original song for their rap from Hustle and Flow and while I don't really like the song or the movie, they look hot. Anytime a man goes for something other than the traditional tux, I'm all for it, because bowties are for Tucker Carlson. I especially like the guy in the back with a silvery-gray suit - I think only a black man could get away with that, and he does it well (although he appears not to really understand what's going on).
Keira Knightley:
I put two pictures of her because the jewels and the make-up are really what do it for me. I'm impressed that she can wear this eggplant color because I tried it once and it totally washed out my pale skin and eyes - but they made it work for her (of course, like Jake, she is beautiful whatever she's wearing, so really this wasn't very hard for her styling team). I love the top of her dress but am a little unsure about her mermaiding at the bottom.
Reese and Ryan:
Another stunning couple. They are just perfectly cute together and it doesn't make me want to puke on my shoe at all. I thought she looked gorgeous when she accepted her award. As for the "aw shucks" card being overplayed, I'm not sure. I was mildly intoxicated in a room with other loud mildly intoxicated guests at our Oscar Party, and I remember loving her. Perhaps in a different moment I would've hated it. But as I said yesterday, I really loved Walk the Line and I thought her performance was superb, so I was really happy she won (also, I picked her on my Oscar Ballot).
Sandra Bullock:
This looks a teeny bit like a prom dress, but I don't mind. I love the color, the cut - true it's a bit simple, but it's elegantly done and dude POCKETS again!! (Did you see Project Runway last night? Chloe totally put pockets on one of her dresses, too!)
Taraji Henson (from Hustle and Flow):
I'm a sucker for turquoise and I love, love the beading on the top, which admittedly you can't see very well in this photo. But I chose this shot because she looks like she's having fun, and that's the best fashion accessory to take on the red carpet - so many of them look so damn serious!
NOW, Finally, for my top two picks:
Uma Thurman:
Ladies, take note. Uma shows how to wear a neutral properly. I love everything about this dress, especially the boobage part. She picked a great dress AND put on some self-tanner to give herself a face and arms to go along with it. Perfection.
Salma Hayek:
Please excuse the Keira photo alongside Salma - I got the picture from Perez Hilton and it was the only full-length Salma photo I could find where she was onstage at the awards ceremony - where I saw her and gasped at how hot she was. The first picture, on the red carpet, gives a good idea of the top of the dress, which is interesting and fabulous, but it's not a terribly flattering photo. The last picture shows the dramatic effect of Salma sassiness in it. To be honest, neither really does her justice, I don't think.
The Salma situation now makes me question some of my Oscar Worst Dressed because perhaps the lighting of the outside was just different and maybe they looked better inside under different lighting. Oh well, it was only one night. They will look beautiful again another day.

Many thanks for this Niki, when I do get to walk the carpet, I'll plump for what Uma is wearing, in the colour of Selma's little number...
Oh and pockets too, PLENTY of pockets...
