Update on the passport situation: I have a guardian angel who knows people who know people in D.C., and I'm going to be able to bypass some of the red tape to get my passport. More importantly, I do not have to re-visit Passport Man at the post office. Hopefully, by the end of next week I'll have said passport and be on my way to visa application hell.
