Getting There and Away: ETA

First of all, a big thanks to everyone for sharing my frustrations about the Melbourne ridiculousness. Luckily, it has all been straightened out.

It seems there was a glitch in the Matrix, and they didn't understand I was taking graduate level courses, not undergraduate, which have a totally different timetable. (I mean duh. What kind of moron tries to arrive for classes two weeks late?) My request for arriving on "3 August" (that's Australian date format, and hell, probably every country except USA) has been granted, and I can now safely purchase a ticket.

Luckily, my father supports my adventurous streak and agreed to pay for my ticket, whatever the cost. This allowed me to purchase the ticket with only 1 stop instead of 3. Thanks to him, it is much more likely I will arrive with my sanity and my nerves in tact because my total number of flights is just 2, not 4. I don't think I could handle that many take-offs in one day. Moreover, thanks to him, I'll likely make my connection. The 3-stop flight gave me a mere 45 minutes between landing in LA and departing for Melbourne - this after 3 flights already, and we all know how on-time flights can be.

Approx. 5pm EST on August 1 I will depart for LAX. Around 11:30 PST (read 2:30 EST) I will head to Melbourne. I will arrive on "3 August" at 7 am (read: August 2, 5pm EST). Thus, I will essentially spend a little more than an entire day of my life on planes or in the airport waiting for planes. Woo. Hoo. Let's pray my flight does not end up like Oceanic 815 from Sydney to LA (SPOILER ALERT: If you have NOT watched the full 2 seasons of Lost and intend to, you may want to think twice about clicking on the link. ) However, if I end up on that island with Sawyer, Sayid, and Jack, you should probably just leave me there. ; )

Sawyer is like a cupcake - so bad for you but looks oh so tasty.
