This weekend Australia entered daylight savings time. This means we "sprung forward" an hour. I did not learn of this until around 5pm. At that time I was beginning my weekend reading. As you can imagined I was less than thrilled to learn it was actually 6pm.
This means it's the second time in a row that I've "lost" an hour. Next April-ish will make the third. These are three hours of my life I will never get back. Ok, technically I will get one back the following October, but shit, this sucks.
At any rate, does this now mean that I'm only 12 hours ahead of EST rather than 14? Because you guys "fell back" an hour, right?
Damn. I'm confused.
UPDATE: According to this world clock website, the time difference between the eastern coast of Australia (i.e. Melbourne) and the eastern coast of the States (i.e. Atlanta) is now 16 hours! Somehow my calculations were the opposite of what actually happened. Go figure. Currently it is Monday, 30 October 2006, 9:50pm Melbourne time. In Atlanta I believe it is now Monday, October 30, 2006, 5:50am.
What time is it where you are?

dude, that bites! I can't believe you have to "spring forward" 3 times in a row! I only reluctantly accept it, because I know I will get to "fall back" eventually. I've gone cross-eyed on the whole time difference thing, but since you post shows up for me that it was posted at 5:46 AM, I'm guessing your calculations were correct. It's now 10:47 AM on Monday, October 30 here in exciting Woodstock, GA.
in my head, it's always 5:13pm.
i don't know what that means either.
always? really, Jeff? you're a strange cookie.
