OC Party

You guys gotta help me. I came back to the OC for my little sister's graduation. I was here approximately 30 mins before my family began to drive me nuts. It's weird. When they came to C'ville last weekend, they didn't drive me crazy at all. In fact, it was rather nice having them around. But being back here...bananas. Does anyone have a muzzle for my mother? She keeps asking me assanine things like, after I ordered vegetable soup, "do you want shrimp?" No, Mom. I didn't order shrimp. "You sure you don't want shrimp?" Then my dad starts in, "get shrimp if that's what you want." I was like, ya'll, I'm pretty sure I know what I want, and it's not shrimp, so please SHUT. UP.

I have taken shelter in the library (hi-speed internet! amazing!) and the comfort of my bar review books. It is a sad, sad day indeed when that's what keeps me sane. (Actually, if you want to know the truth, so far studying for the bar really isn't so bad. What's that, Am? Oh, I guess you might be right. Studying one day and going out every night for a week straight doesn't really count as studying. But it does keep you stress free!)

Speaking of bars, I may have to stop by on the way home before dinner in order to tolerate more family fun tonight. A couple shots should do the trick.

One more thing - OCHS Class of '97 - did we or did we not re-write and/or add a verse to the Alma Mater? Why do I think that we did? Does anyone else have any kind of recollection of this or am I actually bonkers?

Your description of your parents reminds me of a Seinfeld I saw last night! Now the question is: are your parents the elder Costanzas or the Seinfelds?!

I have no idea about the AM. I can't even think of any of the words. Something something 'blue and white'?!?!

Megan - The "blue and white" part was the only part I remember. It wasn't for quite some time that I didn't call ALL Alma Maters "the song from the end of Dirty Dancing" (whose words, sadly, I actually do know).

And, nik, wish I could help you, but I have no idea whether we made up our own verse...

When I went to Cory's graduation my sister and I could remember the entire OC alma mater from beginning to end. It was weird. I don't remember an extra or changed verse, though.
