Check out this YouTube of an MSNBC journalist refusing to do a story about Paris Hilton's release from jail:
Ok, so I agree with her point, but hasn't she made a bigger story out of the story by her little tantrum? Say your piece, do the story, move on. It gets 30 seconds of airtime instead of 2 minutes. Also, then you don't look like a brat on national television.

That is very interesting. I think it's good to take a stand, but it did kind of make her look like a jealous teenager or something. I wonder what the repercussions were for her.
It would've been a lot more effective if she had taken a stand in a professional manner - you know, just saying why she didn't think the story should be the lead. Instead, she comes off looking sort of hysterical. It doesn't put her in a good light. She has a point though. I'm suffering from Parisitis too.
I agree. It would have been awesome to say something (because the state of our news and media is so, so pathetic), but then let's just move on (and for heaven's sake don't pull out a lighter).
i believe she held her punches, especially considering the reaction from her colleague's reaction. at least one of them needed a slap.
also, sorry for duplication on the muck; i didn't see you had already posted.
ben - i hadn't seen your post on the muck, but interesting that you guys take a different view.
i just re-watched it, and i do agree that her colleagues are both being asses. the entire thing comes off as amateurish to me - like siblings or friends picking on each other at a bar when in reality she is making an excellent point. i still think she's a bit nutty and went overboard, though.
