Fair enough, but I think I may have recently re-defined stress eating.
Earlier this evening I purchased the following on a trip to CVS (I had no real reason to go - I was accompanying someone else):
* Pita chips
* White chocolate covered pretzels
* Regular pretzels - possibly the 1 lb bag (What? I like to dip them in peanut butter - I can't do that with the white chocolate kind)
* Dove chocolate chunk and walnut cookies of some kind (Yes - they look way better on the bag than they taste)
* Shredded wheat cereal (don't ask - I have no idea)
* Giant pack of Doublemint gum (meant to stave off stress eating by occupying my teeth, jaw, and tastebuds)
* Giant pack of Big Red gum (see above; also, have you noticed the new ugly Big Red wrapper - ew)
Upon return home, I was disappointed in myself for not procuring some sort of sour candy of some kind - gummi bears, starbursts (mmm...starbursts), sweettarts, what have you, rather than being disappointed in myself for buying $17.52 in junk (yeah, we totally should've gone to Kroger - whoops).
Thus far I have eaten a Dove cookie, some pita chips, some white chocolate pretzels, and one stick of Big Red...in the last 2 hours. It's almost 3am, and I'm hoping the recent brushing of the teeth will stop the binge. But it's bar studying time, the most important exam possibly of my life, so all bets are off (and all snacks are up for grab!).
Aside
In a completely unrelated matter, some group of some sort has released the "New 7 Wonders of the World." I'm sorry, but why is the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro on this list?
Don't get me wrong, I love Rio and the statue as much as anyone, but really? Really? Sure, it's giant, but great sculpting it's not. Also, Stonehenge and the Sydney Opera House were nominated and the Christ the Redeemer statue got on instead? WTF?
Check it out for yourself:
Ok, pretty impressive, but not really much detail or real expression going on here.
Keeping in mind these were built by people without modern machines of any kind like a billion years ago or something...
This isn't even a great picture of the Opera House, but when you're standing anywhere near it, you can't help but be in awe of it. Your eyes gravitate toward it. I've seen both this and the Christ the Redeemer statue, and let me tell you, there is just no comparison.
Ok. Soap box done. Time for bed.

Someone had the munchies ;). hahaha And you know I've been studying way too much b/c I was reading your blog and saw the word "statue" and thought- "Niki, you totally spelled that wrong. It's statuTe." Wow--I think once again I'm guilty of arseny.
Eating too much crap during times of stress in inevitable. I would just let it go and eat all you want. Having something to help you through hellish studying seems far more important than a diet at this point.
I didn't get Christ the Redeemer, either, and knowing now that Stonehenge and the Opera House were up for a vote, I REALLY don't get it. At all.
I know what Amber means about studying too much. I read the word "statue" and I was like; "don't you mean 'statuary downer'?"
PS- WTF? No Natural Bridge?!?!
i saw this as well and i agreed that the opera house shouldn't be there, as with stone henge, though my criteria was pretty subjective. When I arrived in Sydney it was pissing down and i was very jet lagged. I thought the opera house would thrill me to bits, when i saw it it was grey, and the bars around it were all expensive. No awe. No wonder. The second time i saw it it was pretty swish, especially lit up by a thunder storm as i came back on a ferry.
Stone henge, i mean, they ARE medieval engineering, or druids workmanship, but they're just stones - i don't think they inspire any awe when you see them i the cold light of day.
I haven't seen the Jesus statue, but i have poster of it in my room which i think looks fairly swish.
Too conclude this dithering post; i vote no on opera house and stone henge, and unsure on Jebus.
Am/Red - I totally wrote statuTe every single time and had to go back and change
Jenn - I wish my ass agreed with you...but studying is so much more bearable with food entertainment.
Anon - are you taking the bar? I think you might fail unless we have some personal "tudoring" asap. Also, I was as shocked as you about no Natural Bridge. Who are these people??
Ben - I concede that the first time you see the opera house it's kind of "eh." I was like "THAT'S it?" I thought it would be bigger. But if you spend some time walking around the harbor and in the botanical gardens it just grows on you like an eager puppy until you can't help but leave loving it. I think maybe "awe" was poor word choice on my part. Never seen Stonehenge, but I've heard it's a bit of a disappointment. And if a criteria is price of bars in and around the area...the UGA Arch has GOT to be on the list. Next year, next year...
now that i've re-examined the list, i still say even if opera house and stonehenge don't belong, rio jebus doesn't either - the colosseum, the great wall, machu pichu, taj majal...a statue?? if we're going statues, i vote for David and his member or Manneken Pis in Brussels.
yeah, manneken pis gets my vote too. also, theres a girl version in brussels that not many people know about hidden away...now THAT's a wonder.
