I actually did get up, shower, put on make-up, and go to work this morning. I went into court and even addressed the judge, though I don't know how he understood me what with the congestion in my nose. After my case was finished, I tried to sit and observe, but the snot drizzling down my face had other ideas.
I was literally dizzy, so I just decided to throw in the towel. Told the boss I was headed home and that his goatee looked silly before I left and stopped by the grocery store.
I am now prepared for whatever this cold has to throw at me. I purchased no less than 9 types of soup, fresh orange juice (with calcium!), cough drops, cold medicine (drowsy and non-drowsy types), ice cream, and 3 movies from the $1 rental machine outside the grocery store.
Today's features are:
Paris, Je T'aime
We Are Marshall
Ratatouille
Have you guys ever used those $1 vending machines outside grocery stores? This was my first time, and it kind of rocks. But I almost got dicked over - I was talking to the lady using the machine before me while she selected her movies. The movies she wanted were out, and I said I hoped my movies weren't out. Then I made the dumbass move of telling her which movies I wanted - pointing to Paris and Ratatouille. So you know what she does? She fucking rents my Paris movie! I couldn't believe it. Bitch stole my title. Meanwhile she's all, "they should have more than one of each DVD." Uh-huh...you better hope so or I'm taking your tag number and hunting you down. The other two are throw-aways for the cold, but I actually wanted to watch that one.
Luckily, they had another copy, so all is well with the world (but not my head cold).
Soup number one - Buttery Sweet Corn - is almost ready, and I've got to park my ass on the couch for the rest of the afternoon, so I'd better get a move on.

Rest up and feel better! (And watch Ratatouille - it's really cute!)
Sounds like quite the arsenal! I think you are prepared, hope you aren't too miserable. I've seen the $1 rental kiosk outside Wal-mart, but hadn't really looked into. What a B for actually taking your movie! She is so lucky there was more than one copy, I mean, seriously!!!
Stealing from sick people is a punishable offense.
Loved Ratatouille - it was so parent-friendly. And that's the measure of a movie for me these days. And that is sad, sad, sad.
P.S. Hope you're feeling better!
Feel better soon!
