My Inner 10 Year Old Still Has Dreams

(Disclaimer: It was either do the post without links or not do the post at all. I just don't have the energy to look that shit up tonight, but I did want to put this out there for commentary.)

These are the events thus far:

1. Several days ago Perez announced that there might be a New Kids on The Block reunion tour.
(My reaction: Oh. Hell. Yes. I'm SO going to that. Hilarious.)

2. Danny Wood shortly thereafter put up a message on his MySpace that those rumors were unfounded...but then he teased saying that if any such tour were to occur, it would be announced on the NKOTB website. Oh, and his new album is dropping in Australia next month or some shiz.
(My reaction: Um...what? Why is there an NKOTB website? They were popular before the internet existed, if I'm not mistaken, and I think were essentially broken up before it was mandatory to have a "band" website. Suspicious. Very Suspicious. And why is Danny in Oz?)

3. Am sent out an email because she just heard about the NKOTB reunion. I had to tell her that according to Danny, it was a no go. Apparently, I ruined her life.
(My reaction: Sad.)

4. Pictures surface of Donnie Wahlberg, Jordan Knight, and Joey McIntire together goofing off with fans at the airport in the ATL (holla!) on their way to Boston to make "new music."
(My reaction: I thought Donnie was a serious actor now. WTF? Also, a little jealous I wasn't in the airport.)

5. I read on some site or another that the NKOTB website is "previewing" a "new" NKOTB song.
(My reaction: Why? Nothing will ever be as lyrically profound as Oh-oh-uh-o-oh, oh-oh-uh-oh.)

All signs here point to big news people, big news. Yeah, Danny put that dumbass message on his site, but we all know he's still brooding over being the "ugly" one that only got hate mail. He knows even Australians won't accept him as a solo artist and dude is just waiting for Jon to beg him to re-join the band so he won't look like such a doofus.

Make no mistake. I'm totally going to that show if it happens. I don't know what sort of weird psychological neuroses causes me to want to do such thing, but I'm doing it. But before I go...I'm calling Jessica P. and asking her if her mom will make me one of those rad NKOTB laminated bows with their pictures on it....because those were the coolest.

P.S. Confidential to Donnie: If you wear those ripped jeans from the Hangin' Tough: Live! video and pick me out of the audience to sing "Cover Girl" to, I'll let you keep being my favorite. If not...I may have to consider my other options.

Nik, you are KILLING me with this!

I heart NKOTB so much! I was a member of the fan club, don't you know. And I totally remember those bows. And that I never had one. But I did have a huge ass pin with my fave NKOTB member on it, Joey Joe! How in the world will Joe hit those high notes now?

Can I come with?

If there's a concert, we all MUST reunite for it and attend together. No excuses!

And watch out, Megan - little Joey is mine...all mine!! :)

For the rest of the day, I'm going to sing "Please Don't Go Girl" in the halls of my office, just to freak people out.

I had the exact same reaction about the website. I mean, did the internets even exist when they were popular? I don't think so. We were still rolling with Oregon Trail on the Apple IIe.

I confess, Jordan was my favorite. And when I played Barbies, I would often rename Ken "Jordan" and pretend he was my Barbie's boyfriend. (Was that too much? Perhaps too much...)
