Who doesn't love a bunny rabbit? Especially when they are babies, they are cute, cuddly little guys.
Some people love bunnies SO MUCH that they get decide to give their child/ren a baby rabbit for Easter. The problem is that people love 'em and leave 'em. Once the rabbit matures and the reality of caring for the little bugger sets in, the bunnies are often abandoned or set free in the wild. Of course, since they were bred in capitivity, they have no idea what to do with themselves.
Over at The Animal Rescue Site, every purchase you make for the next little while will send proceeds to a rabbit sanctuary in South Carolina which cares for these orphaned Easter bunnies. Or, if you're feeling really charitable, you can purchase care for two bunnies for an entire week - all for a measly $10.
It is extremely unfortunate that a holiday about faith and love has become distorted to the point where it is actually harming our fellow creatures. If you have the money, please take time to donate - and know that you are doing your part to limit the fallout from this unintended side effect of Easter.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention!
Thanks for sharing. It's always sad how thoughtless people can sometimes be about animals (surprise puppy for Christmas = not a good idea). I'm glad to know that the Animal Rescue Site is doing something to help!
