Exciting times...

This is a blogging first for me. I'm typing this standing in my kitchen. My pants are wet on the butt because I was sitting on my shoes that were wet from being outside, you know, because it's been raining for 87 YEARS! Anyway.

Today I bought a Crock-Pot. A real. Live. Crock. Pot. Ok. So it's not "live," in the traditional sense of the term, but it's not a damn impostor or mini - it's a 5 quart, brand name sucker. Not that expensive actually, thank you small children in China.

I'm about to chop some veggies and rinse some beans and throw 'em all together so tomorrow I can warm my cold, wet heart with some veggie chili. What with the work, the dog walking, the exercise, I don't get to even begin to even think about starting dinner until 7:30pm, and at that time chopping is pretty much not going to happen. Usually it means I eat a bunch of crap until I get tired enough to go to bed.

Not anymore, my friends. Not. any. more. Crock-Pot has come to save the day!!

That's it!! That's my model!!

(It's ridiculous really, how excited I am about this. Fuck. I would say that I'm becoming my mother, but I feel pretty positive that she doesn't get this excited about Crock-Pots. I'm just becoming a nutjob.)

Yay! Our Crock-Pot is about 30 years old (a hand-me-down from my mom), and we don't use it very often, but this makes me think we should use it more!

I have long loved my crock pot too. In fact, for some reason, since I'm from IN, people at work tease me that I should have at least 5 crock pots. Maybe it's b/c my mom really does use it every day . . .

The crock pot is great for making meals overnight. My sister has a whole cookbook devoted to the meal-in-a-snap device. I think you're smart for planning ahead!

you knoe your mom gave us our fabulously sleek Crock Pot as a wedding gift. I'm just sayin'. . .

good times. there are some yummy recipes, but most of mine involve meat, so not sure you'd care much for them?
