Lately, some Democrat bigwigs have taken it upon themselves to tell Hillary that she needs to bow out of the campaign. Now, that little logo over there on the left will tell you that personally, I'd be thrilled as peaches if she conceded the nomination to Barack.
However, I don't really get it, and I'm concerned that some people are telling the girl to get out of the game because she doesn't have the goods a little too prematurely, and well, just because she's a girl.
I'm not going to pretend to be up-to-minute with the polls and stats here, and frankly, that stuff really doesn't matter. The numbers seem to yo-yo every time I see them. Plus, some state or other polled Obama and Clinton very closely, but if memory serves Hillary kicked Barack's butt in that particular state.
The polls, in my mind, are equivocal. And really, so are the delegates. I read somewhere that mathematically Hill can't keep up with B's pledged delegates, but um, hello, there are like 8,492 SUPER-delegates out there. I thought it was pretty much understood that at this point, those cats are going to be deciding the thing anyway.
My point: am I missing something here? Is Obama just so clearly that front-runner that it's appropriate to tell Hillary to step aside? Because I just don't see it. We're in a dogfight here, and no one has the other by the jugular. It wouldn't be appropriate for anybody to give up at this point, lest they just got tired and said to hell with it.
Smells a little like the boys have let the woman have her fun, but now it's time to "get down to business," and make her go home. That, my friends, I don't like. It's almost enough to make this girl want to vote for her. Almost.

I don't really get it, either. I think it might have something to do with concern that this is going on too long and that it could hurt Democrats in the end. . . but with so many superdelegates up in the air, I don't know why it's been decided that Hillary is the one who should throw in the towel for the benefit of the party. Though Obama is ahead with pledged delegates, once you factor in the superdelegates, it still seems to be anyone's game. But I don't entirely understand all of this stuff, and I think it depends which media story you read and what spin they decide to put on it. I just can't wait until it's over--this is going on forever!
