I haven't watched one lick of the Olympics this weekend. I was going to tonight until I sat down to do so and discovered Masala had destroyed my remote. You can't change my TV channels without the remote (seriously), so, it looks like I nothing much to say about today's events.
Blogging everyday about the Olympics has been tough this last week, a tiring, relentless pursuit. I will say that it will be somewhat of a relief to have it all done and over. However, I know in about 2 days I'm going to be back to flipping around to find nothing but crap on TV. I'll have to pass the time by making a construction paper chain to countdown the days until the Winter Games.
So who "won" the Olympics? Depends on how you judge. USA led in overall medals: 110, 36/38/36 - roughly a third for every medal. China took the most gold, 51, with 21 silver, and 28 bronze, for a grand total of 100 medals. I'm going to say that USA won overall, because if you subtract the gold medals won by women's gymnasts (due to violation of age rules) and give those medals to us, I think we take them in overall golds won, too. Take that, suckas!

Bummer that Masala destroyed your remote at just the wrong time! I managed to catch a good deal of Olympics this weekend. I'm sorry that it's over, though I'm also looking forward to doing all the other things I used to do when I wasn't watching four hours of TV every night. :)
Thanks again for reporting for us! I know it was draining on you, but I enjoyed it.
