Mind v. Body

What I'd really like to do right now is guzzle half a bottle of wine and go to bed.

No wine on the premises right now, so the first half of that equation is out.  I could go to bed, but it's Thursday night - Grey's night.  Since I'm still in the 20th century and do not yet have a DVR, and the internets is a week behind in watching at abc.com, I'm going to have to stay up until 10pm in order to get my fix.

My body is having none of this.  My body is all, "must. sleep. immediately."

Tonight's fun adventure, then, will be who wins, and how far I make it.

Stay tuned. I'll post if I make it past Grey's. If I don't post again, well, wish me sweet, sweet dreams.

UPDATE: I made it!

SPOILER ALERT - DO NOT READ FURTHER IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCH GREY'S YET!!!!!

* WTF Denny?? Why are you making me and Izzie cry?

* Meredith and Derek are totally cute, and completely boring

* What's up with the Hahn storyline? I know they fired that chick all-of-a-sudden, but what's the real deal? Seriously because of lesbian story? I don't buy it.  Anyway, I never really liked Hahn and Torres, so I'm ok with her gone, but the story doesn't fit, abrupt.

* Karev, I love you.

* Not sure how I feel about Lexi and Sloane

* Dr. former-Lucius-Vorenus and Yang need to do it already

* I read an interview that said Isiah Washington would be willing to come back to the show, and I'd die for more Burke action. I loved Burke.

* Who's the chick with the accent? I missed the first 60-90 seconds.

The girl with the accent is one of Meredith's old, closest friends who has arrived as a new intern.

I have to say that I did NOT like this episode. I love me some "Grey's," but this was over-the-top ridiculous. While I madly love Denny, it is completely creepy and just plain silly that Izzie is kissing a dead guy. Especially after it took nearly five years for Karev to stop acting like a complete asshole. Apparently, just to prevent him from having a normal relationship, they had to practically resurrect someone from the grave.

Yang and what's-his-name is getting pretty silly, too.

And I agree that the abruptness of Hahn is weird, though I actually don't find it that hard to believe that a network would feel uncomfortable with too much homosexuality on prime time TV (heaven forbid we have that). Of course, Hahn & Torres had really weird chemistry, too, so it may have been that the writers realized it just wasn't a good fit.

Also, WTF is this about the interns practicing taking out another intern's appendix next week?!!

I was talking to my sister and we both agree that "Grey's" totally lost us on this one. I actually thought to myself that, if this keeps up, I may not be able to keep watching. Sis agreed. I really hope they can swing it back around for me next time. . .

I'm with you on the ghost storyline. This could be when it really jumps the shark. The being able to kiss and touch him -- is this how they introduce Izzy w/ a brain tumor or something to get rid of her character? But I still love the show, and I heart Sloane and Torres' relationship.

And I'm still upset over how they just ended George and Izzy, as if they never happened. AT. ALL. Can't get over it. Plus, George sucks now.

I'm not too upset about the ghost, to be honest. Other than a brief fling with George, which was just ridiculous, Izzie hasn't fallen in love since Denny. The thing with Alex could have her thinking about Denny all over the place, possibly feeling guilty, weird, etc; I see the "ghost" as just a manifestation of those thoughts - it's how a TV show illustrates that idea because otherwise it would just be Izzie saying, "I'm thinking about Denny a lot." Plus, Denny is such a cutie, it's a reason to have him back in the action. I haven't given up on it yet, but I will say that Red - you're the 2nd person to wonder if Heigl wants off and they're giving her a tumor. (Whatever we know McDreamy could totally save her anyway.)

Where is George?? I feel like he's barely even a character. I don't really care because at first I hated him, then I briefly liked him, so now it's ok for me to hate him again. He bugs me.

I was okay with the ghost, until she could apparently touch and kiss him. That's when they lost me.

Yeah, I don't know what happened to George. I used to love him but he's hardly around much anymore, and when he is, he's kind of a weenie.

I read this awhile ago and was all wound up to respond. .and then. .didn't.

BUT, I Completely agree with Jen! I just didn't get it. I even looked at Greg and said, "they just jumped the shark" it's so odd I've heard that phrase so much the past few weeks and I just learned it! It's like it's throwing everything at it to see what sticks. .it feels so. . off. . the new doctor, which I do kind of like for Christina, but still. . the new "best friend" just appears?! WTF? that's just not sitting well. I don't get bringing Denny back. .at all. Even in non touchable ghost form. reaching!

yeah, the appendix episode does look pretty good, though. I'll still give it another shot.
