anywhere but here

today has been a non-productive disaster. so, i choose to continue that trend by starting my very own blog. i have no idea how long this will last, but since i spend so much time hoping others will post their blogs or searching for interesting news, i thought perhaps i could channel that energy/procrastination into something of my own.

during my lunch break i had to go into CVS to get my caffeine supply since i'm all out of dollars and change for the coke machine. while there i also got some snacks for the inevitable 4:30 hunger hit. being there reminded me of the countless visits jeff and i took to the stupid-ass walgreen's about two blocks away from our hotel in puerto rico. i think we spend more time there than any other place not the beach. but really, thank goodness it was there because if not, we probably would have starved. thankfully, though, we were able to get milk, bread, peanut butter, cereal and pringles rations to get us through the non-vegetarian friendly environment of pr's restaurants.

and speaking of food, did i tell you about my lunch break? i got all psyched up for a falafal salad from sticks, about a 5 min drive away from the law library and much farther than the myriad of closer offerings. it was a risky move - much time could be lost in traffic - but once the idea was there, i couldn't stop thinking about it. so i drove there, through approximately 4,000 traffic lights and discovered that it was closed on sunday. note to self. my fall-back plan was panera, located a mere 1 minute from the law library in the ever-crowded Barracks Road Shopping center, for a repeat of my friday night dinner: soup and salad. hurray! not. the line in panera was about 5 feet from the door. mission aborted. anger is setting in due to need to eat food. next door to panera is "five guys burgers and fries" - they serve basically a bunch of meat stuff i don't eat and french fries. next to them is "casella's italian restaurant" - this is like sbarro's basically. good enough for me. just because i had pizza twice yesterday i was not going to let that stop me from eating it again - also, it was this or boston market in the immediate vicinity, and from the looks of the parking lot over there, that was a no go. yummy. pizza again. today is great.

all this lunch fiasco after "gathering sources" for my cite check, all four of them, took me THREE HOURS. three hours. thank you copy machine that gets jammed in 7 places and keeps blinking at me after i remove it! also, thank you law school people who decided that three copying rooms was really two many and narrowed it down to one. right on.

so now i will finally get to my classwork. after that i have to do more research on a pro bono environmental law project about which i know nothing. should be good. what i would do to be back at that walgreen's.

In happier news:
I saw this virginia vanity plate today - GLOCKS. thank God for republicans.
