dear readers (all 3 or 4 of you),

well, since jeff asked (see comment to tuesday's post), as a matter of fact nothing has happened in my life since monday. basically there are varying iterations of eat, sleep, and study with an occasional visit to the gym thrown in just to mix it up a bit. i am in the middle of pre-exam anxiety even though exams don't officially begin until dec. 10th and i won't be taking any tests on that day anyway - this is because for some reason in law school you need to start reviewing what you've learned a full year in advance.

today there was a small variation in my usual routine but which was connected to one of the integral components - eating, my personal favorite and most essential. my pantry is pretty sparse and so is my wallet, so a trip to the grocery store was in order lest i eat every single meal at either panera or smoothie king.

the grocery store and i have a love/hate relationship. i am one of the few people in the world who actually enjoys grocery shopping, and as a result i can unintentionally and un-noticably waste away a couple of hours there. i don't normally have that time, thus a trip to the store sometimes causes mild panic attacks because it will prevent me from doing something which i perceive to be more important, but which can't actually be - reading stupid law books.

so today, since i didn't have class and the full swing of exam anxiety has yet to set in, i decided to go to the store after my morning workout and stock up so that i wouldn't need to do extensive shopping when i was really stressed and really did not have time to dilly dally about whether the healthy choice or progresso soup is better to buy. (neither have trans fat, in case you were wondering, but the healthy choice does have less sodium.)

to that end, i spent what would've been around $160 if not for my Kroger card and student discount, but which turned out to be around $135. that amount encompasses 2 chunks of cheese, 3 jars of pasta sauce, 3 boxes of granola bars, 4 boxes of cereal, 8 or 9 frozen meals, somewhere between 10-12 canned goods, and sadly, just 1 frozen pizza (i was afraid any more wouldn't fit in the freezer) among various and asundry other items.

so bring it on exam-time stress. my pantry is ready for you. (as well as a blizzard, avian flu quarantine, and nuclear fallout).
