Last Friday night I had the pleasure of attending my first, but hopefully not my last, "President's Day Party." As part of the festivities, guests colored a picture of their "favorite" president and at the end of the night we voted on the best. Remembering a conversation I overheard with my host talking about his blog, I checked it out today to see what he's been up to since he last updated in May 2006.
You all should be very thankful to him, because he took the time and effort to post all our lovely coloring contest pictures from Friday night and consequently I have something to post here.
I'll tell you that Zachary Taylor won, and that I voted for him (See Zach below). But can you guess which piece of art is mine? (Hint: my "favorite" president was not necessarily determined by any substantive criteria.)
Is this NSFW?? Yes, this pic is photoshopped, but the original was no less confounding. He held some sort of telescopic-looking device in his hands....

how fun! hmm, I'm thinking either the colorful George Washington or perhaps the fun-to-say John Quincy Adams?
Excellent.
It's Roosevelt, all the way!
yours--Richard Nixon. Awesome! And that is not a telescope in Taylor's hand.
I'm voting for Franklin Pierce. This is an awesome idea!!
Ash, you're right! It's Franklin. Two things caused me to pick him: 1) He looks sort of flamboyant - what's with his hair? 2) What's he reaching for in his coat pocket - the artist of Taylor hypothesized it might be a glock.
I decided that I wanted to color every possible piece of the picture, so I colored him gray. People said he looked dead. I then decided he was a dead, gay, black man. In real life, I am told, he was quite the womanizer!
