My client was so grateful for my representation today that while shaking my hand she leaned in and kissed me on the cheek....in the middle of court. It was so sweet and bizarre and awkward and heartwarming all at once.
Tonight my neighbors gave me two pieces of pie and a baked sweet potato. The wife neighbor cooked pies for two days for the church pie sale. She went into the house to give me a couple of pieces, and the sweet potatoes she was making for dinner smelled so good that she gave me one of those as well! This is in addition to the chicken chow mein she ordered from the Mason's Lodge that she left on my doorstep last week. I didn't have the heart to tell her that I don't eat meat. I graciously accepted it and ate the crunchy pieces of chow mein (in a separate container from the chicken) in less than 5 minutes.
I have received two Thanksgiving invites from strangers and one invite from a co-worker. I had hoped to volunteer at a soup kitchen, but when I was unable to find one I accepted the invite from co-worker and am eagerly anticipating the feast at his mother's house tomorrow!
I may not have a decent movie theatre or Indian food or a yoga studio, but this little town is starting to make up for all that with its heart.

Yoga the best way to exercise, your website is very helpful.
Your town does sound cute! I haven't seen most of my neighbors. I have seen one and he's a scary old man w/ pop bottle glasses and brightly colored socks. He kind smells and isn't that nice. I try to get Burke to date him! hahahhah.
