Last night:
Atonement - 3/5 stars *SPOILER ALERT: Do not read this review if you do not want to know about the movie; no real details, but some suggestive words!!!* My friend Katie kept raving about this movie, and even though it looked like a new version of The English Patient (which, I HATED, for the record), I am a big Keira Knightley fan so I thought I'd give it a go. At first I was really into it. The storytelling is unique and that is one hot sex scene. Then it ends and you're just sort of left feeling empty. I don't really do sad, epic, war-era period pieces, so I'll admit my bias on this one. The directing was fantastic, and performances were pretty good from the actors as well. Just, eh. Not my thing.
"I Kissed A Girl," Katy Perry - 4/5 stars. This is like, the song of the summer, and I'm sure if I lived in a real city peeps would be dancing to this song all over the place. It's catchy, singable, and just the right amount of slutty. I think I dig this Katy Perry chick. Totally would make out with her.
Last weekend:
Party of Five, Season 3 - 4/5 stars. Hulu has this season, but not seasons 1 and 2 streaming on their website for free. I am a huge PoF fan, and summertime TV dregs have me desperately searching the internet for anything to watch. I'd forgotten how melodramatic this is and how hot Bailey and Charlie are. Also, was our hair really that bad in the 90s?
Last week:
This is Not Chick Lit - 4.5/5 stars. I picked up this book from the UNC bookstore when I was away for work a couple of weeks ago. It's a collection of short stories by today's best American female authors. The whole premise is that women like to read, and can be characters in, fiction that doesn't involve Girl goes to city/Girl meets boy and has lots of sex/Boy is complicated/Girl buys shoes. So far I've liked all of the stories, and I'm finding it much easier to delve into than a novel. Getting old really jacks up your attention span.

She performed this song on So You Think You Can Dance a week or so ago. Before that, I hadn't heard it. It is catchy and I was just waiting for Dellaina, who watches the dancing show with us, to start singing it! I haven't heard her, thankfully, and just hope she hasn't been singing it at day care!
"Pof5" is definitely high on the drama, to the point of ridiculous sometimes, but I can't help but love it.
I've added that book to my reading list. . . thanks for sharing!
Oh, man, Kissed a Girl is on the radio NONSTOP here. I like it at first but I think it's reached critical mass for me. I think I heard that her parents are both pastors? How funny is that?
which party of five season is it where they move the island?
