Um, yes, yes, and yes.
I'm in Boone. I love it. Must. Move. Here. Immediately.
I'm in town for a work conference, at which I spent all of half an hour today. That half an hour was after co-worker and I strolled in an hour late, got bored, and then decided to go exploring.
First we moseyed (?) around some shops, which were ecclectic and fun and oh how I miss these kinds of shops in bumfuck-ville. Then we ate a delicious, and I do mean delicious, meal at Our Daily Bread. Some sort of butternut squash and veggie sandwich with creamy chipotle tomato soup. Mmmm. Did I say delicious? Also, our waiter was a cute hippie college kid, the likes of which I haven't seen in ages, and so it felt a little bit like home (as in Athens home). Ah to be young again.
After fueling up, we jumped in the car and headed for the mountains. The latter part of the afternoon was spent driving the Blue Ridge Parkway, stopping every 10 feet for the "overlooks," hiking to Linville Falls for gorgeous views, and sneaking in a last-minute tour of some pretty awesome caverns. We even saw some bats the size of chicken nuggets!!
Now I'm here, posting this damn blog instead of out drinking because I signed up for fucking NaBloPoMo. Remind me not to do that again.
I'm off to stuff my face now. Catch you guys later.
(Also, this must be a record number of posts within recent dates labeled "happiness." I cannot lie, I am still on an Obama high.)

That's awesome! I've never been to Boone... isn't there good skiing there? Or am I making that up? Might be making that up.
